Can Adobe Name Licenses be transferred and does it also pertain to Adobe Sign?

Adobe Acrobat (Named User Licenses)

Per Adobe’s policy, licenses cannot be assigned to a generic "departmental" inbox. They must be tied to a specific person.

  • The Rule: A license requires a real person's name attached to it.

  • The Workaround: You can use a delegated email (like lawalumni@scu.edu) as the login, provided a specific individual is named as the account holder.

  • Example: If Jane Smith manages the account, the profile in the Adobe Console would be set up as User: Jane Smith with the Email: lawalumni@scu.edu.

Adobe Sign (Enterprise License)

Because Adobe Sign falls under our Enterprise Agreement, the process is different and more flexible.

  • No Transfers Needed: You don't need to "move" a license from one person to another. We can simply provision new ones as needed.

  • Requesting Access: If you need a license for your department, under your delegated inbox name, then contact University Finance Office for current agreement and assist you with Adobe Sign setup.
