A new version for Examplify for Windows and macOS.
This will be an optional update for your exam-takers. For lab updates, or for information about early access, please continue reading.
The version of software you are currently on is no longer supported and will require you to be updated to Examplify version 3.10.0. This update will take place on March 31, 2026. No extensions beyond March 31, 2026 will be permitted to ensure you have the most up to date security enhancements and processor capabilities. If you would like to update your version earlier, please work with your Customer Success Manager (CSM) to choose an alternate date.
Examplify for Desktop version 3.10.0 includes several important updates, including support for Windows ARM devices, user experience improvements, routine bug fixes and security updates critical for safeguarding exam integrity.
Given the growing popularity of ARM-based devices, we are excited that Examplify now supports them for Windows 3.10.0 and above. Users must have Windows 24H2 or greater to use an ARM-based processor. In-app messaging and published Minimum System Requirements have been updated to reflect this change.
We have also included additional encryption of log information stored on exam-taker devices to prevent reverse-engineering. (See these Legacy and Enterprise support articles for how administrators can review logs.)
In addition to bug fixes, version 3.10 includes several user experience enhancements designed to improve clarity and reduce support inquiries:
-
Essay Character Count Alerts: Students will now receive notifications at 80%, 90%, and 100% of the character limit when typing essay responses, helping them stay within guidelines without guesswork or monitoring the character count badge at the bottom of the essay editor.
-
Improved Upload Guidance: The “Unable to Upload Exam” message has been redesigned to provide clearer next steps and reassurance that exam files remain secure.
-
Enhanced Dashboard Navigation: The “Refresh Exam List” link has been added to the top of the Dashboard for easier access ahead of upcoming interface improvements. The lower button for “Refresh Exam List” remains for the time.
-
Clearer Password Guidance: A new reminder above the password entry field clarifies that the exam password is provided by the institution, helping reduce confusion during login.
There are additional improvements to the user interface in versions prior you can find on our support site.
If you would like to upgrade your institution before March 31, 2026, please contact your CSM to have your institution updated with your preferred earlier date.
You and your students may download the software ahead of time on our website.
Actions Required:
-
If you administer exams using lab devices, please review how updates impact lab devices. Please reach out to Support if ISS or Config Files are needed to update your lab devices.
-
As part of a new process, we have released lab installer files to allow you to update your lab machines ahead of your students. If your institution would like a copy of these lab files earlier than the above stated release date for your institution, navigate to the Installers page and download version 3.10.0.
-
As a best practice, instruct exam-takers to verify that their device meets MSRs and to complete a mock exam before taking any assessments.
-
Share this information with all relevant parties, including members of your team and your exam-takers.
Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager with any questions.
